This page has been set up for use in our computer Room to aid those new to the building Please also see my original post to understand the site in context or Internet on Header Menu if new to using a computer. For those who have been here awhile you probably know the area pretty well. So feel free to check your email or surf the net if you don’t have a computer. It beats going to Hollywood Library for their terminal use.  I will keep this web page timely and up to date.

I wanted a web page that residents can use for general information of the area and directions to nearby places and help residents that don’t have a computer to set up a email address and basic tutorials about the Web.

Remember too bookmark this site. If there is information you feel should be on the site, drop me a line and we will get it online to share with others.

The best style is the style you don’t notice.

Now and then I have a question about Hollywood East and I’m hoping that this would be the appropriate forum for them. I’ve looked for a FAQ but haven’t found one. The questions are usually relatively trivial anyway, likely not covered in a FAQ. Today I wanted to ask about the bench on each floor in front of the elevators. On my floor, the seventh, the bench is outside the laundry room and I often see an item or two of clothing on it, which seem to be free for the taking. But I wanted to make sure, before taking anything, that this spot isn’t for lost-and-found things.

    • The closest thing to a FAQ is here https://hollywoodeastpdx.wordpress.com/hollywood-east-gen-info/General Info
Fist things first lost and found should go through front office and or security room depending which is open.

Generally items there are free for the taking. Some residents do take advantage of that space when cleaning our their closet they feel it’s akin to donating to themselves one less trip to the trash can. It’s really not the staffs job to clean up one’s messes they purposely left in the common area. If security see’s someone putting things on the bench they will call you on it. It’s also inconsiderate to the people with mobility issues they sometimes like to sit down while wait for the elevator.
